Meet Sam Bae
My name is Sam Bae and I am running for judge in the 18th Judicial Subcircuit because I believe our courts should reflect the values of fairness, respect and accountability. I immigrated to the United States in 1978 and witnessed first-hand the generosity of hard-working Americans, who lived by these values. In return, I have dedicated my life to giving back to the community that gave me so much. For over 26 years, I’ve practiced law here in Cook County—standing beside individuals, families, and small businesses through some of their most difficult moments.
My wife, Minji, and I have lived in Mount Prospect since 2006. Together, we raised two wonderful children—our son Mason, now attending Vanderbilt University, and our daughter Sydney, a student at John Hersey High School. Like many parents, I served as a volunteer coach for youth and travel sports – a rewarding experience spending quality time with my kids and our community.
Public service has always been important to me. I was honored to serve four years as an elected member of the Board of Education for River Trails School District 26, where I worked to support teachers, students, and families in our local schools. Additionally, I have devoted many years volunteering my legal services to support victims of domestic violence and working families in need, through organizations such as the Korean American Bar Association, KAN-WIN, and Legal Aid Chicago.
I bring not just decades of legal experience, but a deep understanding of the people I hope to serve.
